Wellness Ambassadors
Agnes Moriarty
Hello! My name is Agnes Moriarty, and I am a junior biology major on a pre-PA track. I am from Indianapolis, IN and I am so excited to be back for my second year as a wellness ambassador. Last year, it was great to meet so many different people across campus and have the opportunity to educate them on the many resources Samford has to help students thrive, and I look forward to continuing that mission this year!
Emma Kathryn Jones
Hi! My name is Emma Kathryn Jones, and I’m a Healthcare Administration major from Hoover, Alabama! I’m excited to be a Wellness Ambassador so I can learn more about wellness to help me better support others! I’m passionate about connecting with students, encouraging them, and helping to create a campus culture where everyone feels cared for!
Rosemary Parker
My name is Rosemary Parker, and I am a rising junior from Auburn, Alabama double majoring in Psychology and communication! I am so excited to be a wellness ambassador this upcoming school year because I am looking forward to helping meet the needs of Samford students by promoting resources available to help people with their overall physical, mental, spiritual, health and well-being!
Kathryn Lynch
Hi! I'm Kathryn Lynch! I was most interested in becoming a Wellness Ambassador because, to me, student wellness is one of the most important aspects of good campus life, but it is often overlooked or taken for granted. I wanted to help play a role in improving and maintaining it!
Lauren McKnight
Hello, my name is Lauren McKnight! I am from Franklin, TN, and am a nursing major here at Samford University. I was interested in becoming a Wellness Ambassador because much of my life, as well as the lives of those around me, has been focused on different kinds of personal wellness, ranging from physical and emotional to social and more. I have always found myself wanting to care for others and reciprocate the kindness I have been shown. I hope to show others the same care I have been given and be a welcoming presence.
Ashlynn Cantley
Hey everyone! My name is Ashlynn Cantley, and I am a junior Interior Design major here at Samford. What initially made me interested in becoming a Wellness Ambassador was the opportunity to further my knowledge of wellness while also learning new skills to better help and understand my peers. I have always loved helping and encouraging others, and I believe this position allows me to do so.
Ana Boatright
My name is Ana Boatright, a senior psychology major at Samford from Canton, GA! I became interested in Wellness Ambassadors after seeing how impactful they have become on campus. They are involved students who truly care for their peers and promote the best possible experience at Samford and in college. Wellness Ambassadors are always looking for ways to engage with students and build a community of healthy living while becoming adults. I felt called to become a student who could serve other students and give them a safe space on campus where they know they can always find help and support in this growing community!
Jenna Ringley
I'm Jenna! I am a junior nursing student this year. I wanted to become a Wellness Ambassador because I wanted to find a role on campus that would allow me to serve my peers and become more involved on campus. I was also looking for a way to give back to our wonderful school, which has given so much to me over the last couple of years. I am also super excited to grow closer to like-minded people whom I get to serve with week after week!
Become a Wellness Ambassador
Thank you for your interest in Samford’s Counseling’s Wellness Ambassador program! This program provides a new leadership opportunity for enrolled undergraduate students who are interested in and committed to raising awareness about mental health and holistic wellness among Samford’s student body. After completing a Wellness Ambassador Cadre in the spring semester of one’s freshman, sophomore, or junior year, the Wellness Coordinator will make final selections from the remaining interested students who have submitted an application for the Wellness Ambassador Program set to serve during the following academic year. Exceptions to the cadre requirement are at the discretion of the Wellness Coordinator. Wellness Ambassadors serve one entire academic year as a campus leader and facilitator of wellness-related education, advocacy, awareness and involvement. Participants work directly with Counseling office staff to enhance the wellness programs provided each semester.
