Are there prerequisite courses to declare the major?
Yes. Students must complete the required pre-business courses to be admitted into the Brock School of Business. These courses include ACCT 211 and 212, BUSA 200, DATA 200 and 201 and ECON 201 and 202. Students must earn a C- or better in each pre-business course. Admission into the business school is automatic once these requirements are met. Students who are still completing one or more pre-business courses or who have not yet earned the required C- may be granted provisional admission, which allows enrollment in 300-level business courses but not 400-level courses until all requirements are satisfied.
Do I need a minimum GPA to enter the major?
Yes. Students must earn a 2.25 or higher GPA in pre-business courses and maintain a cumulative 2.00 Samford University GPA to be admitted into the Brock School of Business. Once admitted, students must continue to maintain a 2.00 GPA in business courses to graduate.
Can I study abroad as part of this major?
