Samford University will celebrate its first-ever virtual homecoming Nov. 12-14.
The three-day event features several Samford traditions, including the annual celebration of the Alumni of the Year honorees Nov. 12. The virtual celebration will feature this year’s six honorees— Alumni of the Year Brandon Bailey ’05 and Michael Escoe ’84, Outstanding Young Alumni of the Year Lindsey Harris ’06 and Mary Kathryn Steel ’07, and Humanitarians of the Year Katherine and Jay Wolf ’04.
Samford President Andrew Westmoreland will host a virtual fireside chat to get to know each award recipient. Former Alumni of the Year honorees Jewel Littleton and Alumni Association president Stephen Dillard also will speak at the event. Register for the event.
Samford’s Office of Diversity and Intercultural Initiatives and the Black Alumni Association (SBAA) invite the entire Samford community to celebrate Homecoming and the diverse voices of our campus at a Virtual Day Party Thursday, Nov. 12, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. The event will include a live DJ, games and prizes. SBAA president Kendell M. Jno-Finn and other alumni leaders will attend and join you in sharing your love for Samford! Families can gather for a Nov. 13 Samford Family Movie Night, featuring several movie options with special Samford connections, including Toy Story 4, Courageous, October Baby and Woodlawn.
End the weekend by reuniting with classmates at one of four class reunions Saturday, Nov. 14. Virtual reunion events will recognize the class of 1970 50-year reunion, the class of 1995 25-year reunion, the class of 2010 10-year reunion and a Golden Bulldog celebration for alumni who graduated 50+ years ago. President Westmoreland and Randy Pittman, vice-president for university advancement, and other special guests will also join the reunion fun.
