Samford University alumni from 1965, 1990 and 2005 will celebrate special reunions during homecoming weekend Nov. 6-8. Reunion groups are hosting special events planned by class committee members, as well as presenting their class gifts.
Director of Alumni Programs Molly McGuire England said, “We are encouraging more alumni to get involved, and homecoming reunions are a way for them to reconnect and show their families the community they are part of.”
Reunion festivities kick off Friday at 6:30 p.m. with the Homecoming Banquet in Seibert Hall. A 149-year tradition, the dinner will honor the 2015 Alumni of the Year, Outstanding Young Alumnus and the reunion classes.
The classes of ’90 and ’05 are holding reunion parties after the football game on Saturday. The class of 1990 event will start at 7 p.m. at Caspian Bar and Grill, while the class of 2005 will celebrate at Cocina Superior at 6 p.m.
The class of 1965 is hosting a 50th anniversary luncheon at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday in the Leslie S. Wright Center lobby.
Those celebrating their 50th anniversary or longer are invited to the annual Golden Bulldog Brunch at 11 a.m. on Sunday following a Bible study and worship time led by Samford President Andrew Westmoreland. The Golden Bulldog brunch will be in Cooney Hall, the new home of the Brock School of Business.
Advance reservations are requested for all class reunion events.
In addition to the class reunions, several organizations and departments are planning special reunion events during homecoming, England noted.
