Crouch is a professor at Samford University’s McWhorter School of Pharmacy. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of North Carolina and completed his first-year pharmacy residency at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He also earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, completed a cardiovascular research fellowship and a second-year cardiology-focused residency at the Medical University of South Carolina, attended the Institute for Management and Leadership in Education at Harvard Graduate School of Education, and earned an MBA from Samford’s Brock School of Business.

Before joining Samford, Crouch held faculty and leadership roles at Virginia Commonwealth University, South University, and East Tennessee State University. He served as acting associate provost of Samford’s College of Health Sciences in 2020 and later as dean of McWhorter School of Pharmacy from 2016 to 2025. His achievements have been recognized through membership in several honor societies, including Phi Lambda Sigma, Rho Chi, Beta Gamma Sigma, Phi Kappa Phi, and Omicron Delta Kappa.

A third-generation pharmacist, Crouch has taught and mentored students and residents throughout his career. He has published more than one hundred papers, delivered over two hundred invited presentations, and authored two books. Board certified in pharmacotherapy with added qualifications in cardiology, he was named a Fellow of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists in 2009. The Birmingham Business Journal has also recognized him as a healthcare leader. He serves on several advisory boards, including the Paraguay Baptist Medical Center Foundation, the Tuscaloosa Research and Education Advancement Corporation Board, and advisory councils for Albert Schweitzer of Alabama and the Statewide Alabama Area Health Education Centers.

Crouch and his wife, Candace, have three adult children—Jack, Julia, and Anna. In his free time, he enjoys fly fishing, golfing, motorcycling, and playing the guitar and piano.
