When Chris George ’09, MBA ’15, first toured Samford as an incoming freshman, he knew it was where he needed to be. Conversations with professors and students made him realize early on that his future alma mater would be a place where he would grow personally, professionally and spiritually. “Samford has given me more and done more for my life, my family and my career than I could ever reciprocate,” George said.

After graduating, George spent 13 years at Regions Bank, where he was first introduced to marketing, customer segmentation and new branch development. He was then approached by Tidal Wave Auto Spa, the rapidly growing car wash chain. In December 2025, he was promoted to senior vice president of marketing. In this role, he leads the marketing, customer service and business sales teams in supporting over 300 car washes across the country.

George has stayed involved with Samford and hopes to give others the opportunities to do the same. He will serve as the president of the Samford University Alumni Association (SUAA) for a two-year term, 2026-2028.

“I am truly honored to serve Samford in this capacity and contribute to its enduring mission,” George said. “Creating an active and engaged alumni network is important, and I’ve had many mentors help me in my career who I connected with as fellow alumni.”

George is excited to lead SUAA in engaging with the university’s 60,000 alumni worldwide and in strengthening and expanding all alumni engagement entities that make up the association. This includes nine regional chapters, 18 regional clubs, four school-based chapters, the Samford Black Alumni Association and the Young Alumni Board of Birmingham. He will serve on the SUAA executive team alongside Evie Morris ’90, vice president of committees, and Lee Dymond ’92, vice president of development.
