Samford University is launching its first-ever school-based alumni chapters, marking a new opportunity to connect graduates to their academic roots. McWhorter School of Pharmacy and Moffett & Sanders School of Nursing will be the first schools to participate in the School-Based Alumni Chapter Program, an initiative designed to strengthen alumni engagement at the school level.
The program, a partnership between the Samford University Alumni Association and Samford’s 10 academic schools and , creates a structured way for alumni to stay connected not only to the university but also to the programs that shaped their careers. School-based chapters are organized around shared academic experiences, offering targeted opportunities for networking, events and ongoing involvement.
“These inaugural chapters represent an exciting new opportunity for alumni engagement at Samford,” said Casey Ramey, executive director of alumni engagement initiatives. “By partnering with McWhorter School of Pharmacy and Moffett & Sanders School of Nursing, we are creating new ways for alumni to connect with one another and remain actively involved with their academic school, the Alumni Association and the university.”
Each chapter will be led by alumni of the respective school who applied to serve on the chapter’s leadership team and will work closely with their academic school and the Alumni Association to plan events, share engagement opportunities and encourage continued support of Samford’s mission. Both chapters will host official launch events in April, marking the beginning of this pilot program.
