Michael J. Freeman will sponsor the St. Lawrence
Quartet at Samford Oct. 4 at 7:30 p.m. in Brock Recital Hall as part
of the university's Davis Architects Guest Artist Series. The sponsorship
celebrates Mary Anne Freeman's 55th birthday, as will a reception sponsored by
friends.
Established in 1989, the
St. Lawrence String Quartet has developed an undisputed reputation as a world-class
chamber ensemble. The quartet is Ensemble in Residence at Stanford University
but performs more than 120 concerts annually worldwide. Their recordings have
been honored with the coveted German Critic’s award, Canada’s Juno and two
Grammy nominations.
