Elliott Dansby joined the Beeson Divinity School staff in January 2025 after serving for more than a decade in the Samford Office of Admission in several roles, fostering relationships across campus, the state of Alabama and throughout the country.
In his role at Samford, Elliott serves as a Development Officer responsible for fundraising for Beeson Divinity School, prioritizing scholarships and Dean’s initiatives. Learning individuals’ stories, building relationships and partnering in advancing the Gospel are passions fueling his drive. He counts it a privilege learning and sharing the special story of Beeson’s Kingdom impact both on campus among current students and faculty and through its graduates ministering around the globe.
After being raised all over Alabama (predominantly on a farm near Andalusia), he came to Samford from Andalusia High School and completed his undergraduate degree in 2009. While at Samford, he served for three years as an ambassador, resident assistant and tour guide and also studied abroad widely in Europe. He then proceeded to the University of Alabama for his masters and the University of Alabama at Birmingham for further study and employment before proudly returning to his alma mater in 2014.
While at Samford, he met his wife Jenny (Davell) of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and they have been married since 2010 and reside in Bluff Park. They’re blessed with two children, Lottie and Gil, who attend Shades Mountain Elementary School. As a member of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church, he has served as a deacon, and he and Jenny have taught seventh-grade Life Groups for many years. Outside of Samford, Dawson or neighborhood service, he can often be found in a canoe fishing an Alabama creek or hiking some North Carolina mountain (with a child and/or pup or two in tow).
