Marliese Thomas has been named Reference and User Engagement Librarian at Samford University. She will join the University Library staff Jan. 9, 2012.
Thomas will assist in reference and instruction as well as coordinate library marketing initiatives and outreach activities, according to library Director Kimmetha Herndon, who announced the appointment. Thomas also will have primary responsibility for managing the web presence for Reference and Research Services, said Herndon.
Thomas has been Special Collections Technology Librarian and Database Enhancement Librarian at Auburn University. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Loyola University of New Orleans and master of library and information science degree from the University of Alabama.
