Chemistry is one part to being a pharmacist, and chemistry is exactly what the McWhorter School of Pharmacy looks to teach with its annual orientation starting Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at 10 a.m.
The four day event is designed to bring the school’s first year students together and build team chemistry. The goal is to have all 129 students working together after all were in competition for admittance into pharmacy school.
In addition to team building, orientation will also inform students what the McWhorter School of Pharmacy has to offer along with Samford University’s facilities and academic services.
A workshop in patient-pharmacist professionalism will be conducted but there will also be fun items on the agenda over the four days. An ice cream social makes the schedule and laughs will be had with a fashion show held by current pharmacy students on dress code ‘no-no’s’.
The orientation wraps up Friday, August 19 at noon but signals the start of McWhorter’s 84th year of teaching pharmacists who change lives.
