Eva Hardy, assistant professor of nursing in Samford University’s Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing, will participate in the 2011-12 class of the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Geriatric Education Center’s Faculty Scholars Program.
Through various activities, the Geriatric Education Center (GEC) promotes a higher quality of life for older adults. GEC is a branch of the Center for Aging at UAB.
Throughout the Faculty Scholars Program, Hardy will participate in training and retraining programs with themes focused on geriatrics. The program’s focal points will be enhancing care in advanced illness, frailty, care coordination, symptom management and medication management.
Hardy has been a Samford nursing faculty member since 2008. This year’s Faculty Scholars Program includes faculty from nine universities in the fields of nursing, medicine, dentistry, optometry, social work, physical therapy, psychology and physiology/biophysics.
