The Christian Women’s Leadership Center has a mission. They hope to engage Christian women in learning experiences and leadership development so they may influence the world for Christ.
A series of speakers come to Samford University to aid in that mission at the CWL’s monthly luncheons. The first of nine dates came September 13, 2011 with Peggy Sanderford Ponder speaking, a licensed marriage and family counselor.
As the CWL describes, these luncheons are a time for women from the area to hear from other women about their hopes, their dreams and work.
Up next on the schedule of speakers is Samford’s First Lady, Dr. Jeanna Westmoreland. She is a former Dean of Education at Ouachita Universtiy. Dr. Westmoreland will speak to the group on October 4, 2011. The luncheon takes place at the Howard Room (formerly the Flag Colonnade).
The event begins at noon and lasts for an hour. You can either bring your own box lunch or have your meal provided for $8.50. You can make reservations by contacting Delane Tew, the CWL’s Director, at ctew@samford.edu .
