The popular multimedia presentation, “Star of Bethlehem,” will be shown again during the Holiday season at Christenberry Planetarium in Samford University’s Propst Hall.
Presentations will be at 7 p.m. on December 11, 14 and 17, and at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12. Groups can reserve special showings at additional times.
The hour-long show addresses questions that historians and scientists have long pondered about the star that appeared in the east, as cited in the gospel of Matthew.
“A very busy night sky offers several possibilities that scholars have debated for centuries,” says planetarium director George Atchley. “But modern technology delivers a recent discovery that ‘outshines’ all previous speculations.”
The presentation is suitable for all ages. Admission is free. For information or to schedule a group showing, call Atchley at (205) 726-4139 or email geatchle@samford.edu.
