American Bar Association president H. Thomas Wells, Jr., will address students at Samford University's Cumberland School of Law Thursday, Oct. 9.
Wells, a partner and founding member of Maynard, Cooper & Gale, P.C., in Birmingham, will speak at 11 a.m. in the moot courtroom of Robinson law building. His topic will be "Common Core Values of the Legal Profession."
Wells began his one-year term as president of the national lawyer's group in August. He has held prior leadership roles with the ABA, as well as with the Alabama State Bar and the Birmingham Bar Association. He has been chair of the ABA's House of Delegates and is co-chair of the ABA's special committee on disaster response, which was commissioned after Hurricane Katrina.
