Sie L. Clay, MSOL, SPHR, is a seasoned Human Resources leader with extensive experience in professional development, employee relations, talent acquisition, and strategic HR support. Currently serving as Director of Employee Relations and Development at Samford University, Sie pairs her heart for people with a passion for developing talent, strengthening organizational culture, and helping employees and leaders thrive. Her work is grounded in a deep understanding of Human Resources policies, practices, and organizational development.

Before joining Samford University, Sie gained more than fifteen years of Human Resources experience, specializing in employee relations, leadership consulting, workers’ compensation, recruitment, compliance, training, and development. She is a member of the Birmingham Society for Human Resource Management, where she serves on the Birmingham HR Fusion committee. Sie holds the Senior Professional in Human Resources, or SPHR, certification, along with other professional credentials. She earned a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from Samford University and a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management from Bellevue University. Sie is also an active member of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.

Outside of work, Sie enjoys spending time with her husband, Jermaine, and their three daughters. She and her family are actively involved in their faith community. Sie also enjoys traveling, relaxing at the beach, and volunteering for causes that improve the lives of others. In both her personal and professional life, she is driven by a deep commitment to building meaningful relationships, developing people, and engaging in her community.
