Cumberland School of Law’s international CLE conference, The Art of Advocacy, enhances lawyers’ persuasive advocacy skills while incorporating global perspectives.
This immersive international continuing legal education seminar features legal experts from across the globe. The 2027 event will be held in Florence, Italy, June 28-29, 2027 at the St. Regis.

Why Attend?

  • Enhance and hone your persuasive advocacy skills in an international setting  
  • Secure 12 CLE hours, including one ethics hour, from Alabama, New York, Mississippi and other jurisdictions. Attorneys admitted in mandatory CLE states who wish to use this course toward fulfilling the state’s mandatory CLE requirement should complete a Uniform Certificate of Attendance available at the registration table on the day of the seminar and self-report to their respective state bar association.
  • Launch your own excursion from Florence to explore Italy or continental Europe and beyond.

What is the cost to attend?

$995 if registered by December 31, 2026. $1195 if registered between January . 1 – February. 28, 2027. $1395 if registered between March. 1 - May 31, 2027.

What do the proceeds from this event support?

Proceeds from the Art of Advocacy support scholarships for law students to attend study abroad programs.

What does the fee include?

The fee includes 12 hours of CLE credits including 1 hour of ethics, along with breakfast and lunch during the two days of the conference.

Where should I stay while in Florence?

Attendees will book their accommodations directly with the hotel or residential service of their choice.  The Art of Advocacy will be held at the St. Regis Florence on the Arno River.  There are many hotels within walking distance of the St. Regis.

 Should I use a travel agent?

It depends on your plans before and after the conference. Some of our past attendees have used travel agents to plan their time around the event while others planned it themselves.
