If you have completed two years of community college in a science or math-related field, you can complete your bachelor's degree through Samford University's STEM Scholars program. The program is supported by the National Science Foundation and designed specifically for academically gifted transfer students who are committed to a career in STEM and need financial assistance to complete their degrees (students must be eligible to receive a Pell Grant).
Once accepted, you will enter the program as a Samford junior. You will have mentors, scholarships, academic support, and opportunities for paid research and internships to help you achieve your educational and professional goals.
Scholarship
The STEM Scholarship is for the Academic Year (fall and spring) only. To apply, you must have an online Samford account. If you've started a Samford/Common App admission application, you can apply for this scholarship using the same login information. Once you complete the application, please email it to vdebro@samford.edu.

Application Deadlines
The application deadline for Fall 2026 is May 15, 2026. Students are encouraged to apply by April 1, 2026, to be considered for the first round of scholarships. The STEM Scholars Program offers a strong academic and social community, with students admitted as a cohort each fall.
