Samford University will host a reading by author Sheri Joseph on Monday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. in Brooks Auditorium, Brooks Hall. The free public reading is the final event of the 2013-2014 Visiting Writers Series of the Birmingham Area Consortium of Higher Education (BACHE). Refreshments will follow the reading.

Joseph is the author of three books of fiction, most recently the novel Where You Can Find Me. The novel gradually reveals the story of a missing fourteen year-old boy named Caleb Vincent, who has recently been returned to his family by the FBI. The novel weaves in and out of the consciousnesses of the boy, his parents and his sister, exposing and exploring the limits of the knowable.

Joseph's earlier books are Stray, a novel, and Bear Me Safely Over, a cycle of stories. She has been awarded the Grub Street National Book Prize and a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship. She currently teaches in the creative writing program at Georgia State University and serves as fiction editor of Five Points literary magazine.
