Computer Engineering
The concentration in Computer Engineering provides students with a solid foundation in the principles of computer hardware, digital systems and the integration of hardware and software. This program prepares students to address complex engineering problems, innovate in the creation of new technologies and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Graduates are equipped to pursue careers in hardware design, systems integration and embedded systems engineering, while upholding the highest standards of professional ethics and technical competence.
The concentration in Cybersecurity equips students with skills in threats, vulnerabilities, basic cyber defense mechanisms, encryption, authentication and security policies. In upper-level cybersecurity courses, students receive targeted training in security management (risk assessment, policy and regulatory compliance), cyber engineering (secure system design and configuration management), and cyber operations (incident response, threat detection and security monitoring). Hands-on labs and real-world security incident analyses are woven throughout the curriculum.
The concentration in Data Science equips students with skills in data-oriented programming languages, visualization software, data mining, data modeling, natural language processing and machine learning to extract and analyze information from large structured and unstructured datasets.
The concentration in Software Engineering equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to pursue careers as software engineers. Students gain experience in software design, development, life-cycle activities, human-computer interaction and testing of systems. They also develop skills to communicate effectively with diverse audiences and assume leadership roles in software development organizations while adhering to professional standards.
