The Howard College of Arts and Sciences Department of Biblical and Religious Studies will host the 2026 Dotson M. Nelson Lectures on Thursday, March 26, featuring Dr. Carmen Joy Imes, associate professor of Old Testament at Talbot School of Theology, Biola University.

Imes will deliver three lectures throughout the day. At 10 a.m. in the Wright Center, she will present “Being God’s Image.” At 11:30 a.m., she will speak on “Why the Church Still Matters” during a Lunch and Learn in the Rotunda Club. The final lecture, “Bearing God’s Name,” will take place at 3 p.m. in Brock Forum.

The lectures are open to all and convo credit will be offered for students.
