Before coming to Samford, Rony Kozman earned his PhD in the Study of Religion and Jewish Studies at the University of Toronto. A specialist in the New Testament and early Jewish literature, Kozman's research interests include ancient Jewish and Christian interpretations of the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament, Second Temple Judaism, and the Apostle Paul.

Kozman’s book, Adam's Wisdom and Israel's Law: Paul, Early Judaism, and Natural Law Tradition (Baylor University Press, forthcoming 2025), uncovers an ancient Jewish version of natural law and argues that Paul used this Adam's law tradition repeatedly in his Letter to the Romans. His essays on ancient Jewish and Christian biblical interpretation have appeared in the biblical studies journals, Dead Sea Discoveries and Zeitschrift für die alttestamentliche Wissenschaft, and in a special issue of Religions.

Kozman also co-hosts The Two Testaments podcast, which takes listeners on a guided journey through Scripture with leading experts on the Bible. The podcast interviews biblical scholars and has produced series on Deuteronomy, Minor Prophets (Book of the Twelve), Job, Matthew, Romans, and Revelation.
