Marshal Smith serves as the assistant director of the Center for Sports Analytics in Samford University's Brock School of Business. Originally from southeast Alabama, he is a 2021 and 2024 graduate of Samford University. Smith got an early start in business, starting his vending business with the help of his father at age 8. 

Throughout his time at Samford, he has worked on projects with brands such as the Denver Broncos, Minnesota Wild, the New Orleans Saints and the Southeastern Conference. Smith previously interned in the Birmingham area for World Soccer Shop and the Birmingham Bulls.

Smith served as the first ever graduate assistant for the center under the helm of Executive Director Darin White. He  received his MBA with a concentration in sports business in the summer of 2024. 

In his free time, he loves to watch NASCAR, play piano, and talk about his battle with Ulcerative Colitis/Crohn’s.
