Scholarships

Samford University’s Beeson Divinity School is pleased to announce the addition of two new endowed scholarships to help make theological education more affordable for its students.

The Cecelia Walker Baptist Health System Foundation Endowed Scholarship is funded by the Baptist Health System Foundation in honor of Cecelia Walker, Beeson alumna and Samford University trustee, in honor of her years of service to the state’s hospital through chaplaincy. Earlier this year, Walker was named the 2024 Beeson Alumna of the Year.

The Wayne and Mary Splawn Endowed Scholarship is given in honor of Beeson alumni Wayne and Mary Splawn by Mountain Brook Baptist Church and the James D. Moebes Foundation. Wayne Splawn is the senior pastor, and Mary is the minister of connection at Mountain Brook Baptist Church.

These scholarships will be awarded to students in future years.

Beeson is proud to offer competitive and affordable tuition to its students. When compared with peer institutions, tuition and fees for the Beeson Master of Divinity are 17.3% less. For more information on our tuition, fees and scholarships, visit our website.
