    			Two PhD students at Samford University’s Beeson Divinity School and a host of professors across campus will present proposals and moderate discussions at two major theological conferences in November.
                
			 
                Samford Piano Professor, Cindy St. Clair, Inducted into Steinway & Sons Music Teacher Hall of Fame
    			Cindy St. Clair, associate professor of piano and area coordinator of keyboard studies at Samford University’s School of the Arts, was inducted into the Steinway & Sons Music Teacher Hall of Fame in October. St. Clair is one of 43 music educators from the United States and Canada to be inducted this year.
                
			 
                Samford Theatre for Youth: ‘The Lightning Thief’ Delivers Sold-Out Performances, Lasting Impact
    			The stage lights dimmed, and a hush fell over the audience as Percy Jackson’s story, “The Lightning Thief,” came to life inside Samford University’s Harrison Theatre. For many of the children and families in attendance, it was the first time they had witnessed live theater, an experience made possible by Samford’s Emma Taylor Theatre for Youth Series and its ongoing outreach to Birmingham-area schools and community groups.
                
			 
                Samford Christian Ministry Professor J.D. Payne Releases Comprehensive Guide to Evangelism
    			For nearly three decades, J.D. Payne has researched and taught evangelism. Now, the Thomas Welby Bozeman Chair of Christian Ministry at Samford University’s School of the Arts compiles that wealth of experience into his new book, Understanding Evangelism. The comprehensive textbook is designed to equip Christ followers for gospel witness around the world.
                
			 
                Samford Alumnus Scott Bush Named Leader of Ministry Training Institute
    			Samford University has appointed Scott Bush ’91, MDiv ’95, DMin, as director of its Ministry Training Institute (MTI). 
Currently serving as senior pastor of Southcrest Baptist Church in Bessemer, Alabama, Bush will lead the university’s initiative to provide affordable, accessible theological education for church leaders across the Southeast.

    			Lakeshore, Samford University's rhythm and blues (R&B) ensemble, has earned national recognition, being named the Undergraduate College Outstanding Performance of the Year by DownBeat magazine. The prestigious honor is featured in the June issue of the magazine, which hit newsstands on May 11. Known as the definitive voice in jazz, blues and R&B journalism for over 90 years, DownBeat's endorsement places Lakeshore among the most promising collegiate music groups in the country.
                
			 
                Samford Professor Wins Top National Honors for Graphic Design Excellence
    			Zimny was awarded the prestigious Albert McClellan Award for Exceptional Achievement in Print Media & Design, which is one of only seven grand prizes presented annually by the Baptist Communicators Association (BCA).
