Art for Children (Ages 6-8)
Students will learn about famous artists and their methods of creating art. We will work with paint, graphite, clay, paper and other mediums to create works of art.

Digital Art: Procreate & Adobe Photoshop for Grades 7-11
This Digital Art course introduces students to the fundamentals of creating and preparing digital artwork for a variety of professional and creative applications. Through hands-on instruction in Procreate and Adobe Photoshop, students will develop technical skills in digital illustration, image editing, and file management. Emphasis will be placed on file literacy—including organization, formatting, and exporting artwork for both print and digital platforms—to ensure students can confidently share and present their work in professional contexts. Alongside software proficiency, students will explore essential principles of color theory, design, and composition, building a strong foundation in visual literacy and creative problem-solving. By the end of the course, students will be equipped with the tools and understanding necessary to produce polished, purposeful, and visually compelling digital art. Students are required to bring iPad with an Apple Pencil, and to purchase procreate (one time 12.99 dollar purchase). For photoshop, students will need a laptop or computer. More details are provided prior to class.

Printmaking: Intro to Relief Printing
Relief printmaking dates back centuries, and with the invention of modern printing techniques, is no longer a necessity, but a skill that is slowly being forgotten. This type of printmaking is a reductive process that combines designing, drawing, and carving; the perfect combination of 2D and 3D art. The creation of a “block” allows the artist to create multiples of their final image. Printmaking is, as the 3-dimensional carving produces a 2-dimensional “print”. Ages 17+

Participants in this class will practice drawing skills that will help in all areas of art. They will complete an acrylic painting of flowers, landscape or architecture. Drawing From Life
This class introduces the fundamentals of observational drawing through hands-on exploration of materials, principles, and technique. Students will experiment with charcoal and graphite while learning composition, contrast, form, and space. Building from simple exercises to themed still life studies, students will develop a final drawing that reflects both technical skill and personal interpretation.

Japanese Calligraphy I
This course provides an accessible introduction to the art of Japanese calligraphy (Shodo). Using the versatile calligraphy brush pen, students will learn the fundamental techniques of this traditional art form without the need for traditional ink preparation. The course will focus on the principles of the Kaisho (regular script) style, including correct posture, brush pen handling, and the execution of the eight basic strokes. Through the practice of writing simple Japanese kanji characters, students will develop fine motor control, an understanding of aesthetic balance, and an appreciation for this significant cultural art form. No knowledge of the Japanese language is required.
