Samford Homecoming Lecture Series - Finding Faith, Meaning, and Purpose on Spain’s Camino de Santiago

Drs. Anthony Minnema and Drew Hataway have led study abroad trips with Samford students to hike over 100km of the Camino de Santiago. In May 2025, they wrote a guided journal for their students on how study abroad influences your faith, calling, and future career. Come listen to Minnema and Hataway talk about their experiences on the Camino and hopes for faith formulation through study abroad. We will also be joined by a current Samford student that has participated in this trip.

Jonathan Haidt, Rod Dreher, and other public voices have been sounding the alarm for a decade: Americans are increasingly more anxious, addicted and alone. Yet this age, as in every age, has unique hurdles that Christ overcomes as He leads His Church. Explore ways to reimagine a resilient faith, tethered to the timeless practices of Christians throughout the centuries.

Samford Homecoming Lecture Series - Navigating the New Era: NIL, the Transfer Portal, and the Shifting Landscape of College Athletics

This lecture examines the impact of NIL, the transfer portal, and evolving athlete loyalty on college athletics, highlighting how these forces are reshaping recruiting, retention, team culture, and donor engagement, while offering strategies for support organizations like the Bulldog Club to adapt and lead in building sustainable, values-driven athletic programs.
